The process begins with an alternative certification program self-assessment and a commitment to improvement, followed by the design of a transformation plan specific to each Educator Preparation Program. Through a series of regular meetings, workshops, and reflection sessions, we will collaboratively work toward reaching goals defined for high-quality educator preparation programs. This is a three-year journey with a year dedicated each to planning, piloting new processes, and scaling to reach all teacher candidates. We provide technical assistance in the following areas:
The following teacher preparation model has been created with the goal of equipping pre-service educators with quality content knowledge and pedagogical skills and developing their “communication style and socioemotional intelligence” (Evans, 2017), as well as a high sense of self-efficacy (Bandura, 1986; Ernest, 1989; Evans, 2010). We are determined to elevate the teaching profession through a commitment to quality, in partnership with all involved in preparing our future teachers.
